film
i've recently rediscovered film photography, everything from cross-processed 120mm film in a plastic toy holga, to 35mm film cameras from the 1930s. film cameras i use include: holga 120N, diana mini, canon A-1, lomo fisheye, argus A2F (ca. 1939), voigtländer brillant V6 (ca. 1930s), spartus (ca. 1948), nikon F400x/N5005 (1992), polaroid one600, polaroid TAZ, polaroid impulse -
requiem
i find myself profoundly moved when i find a dead thing, and reaching for my camera seems to be the only thing i can do. you may think this is morbid, but i'm honored to have come across these lost lives, willing to testify to the tiny little lives they led. -
iphoneography
most cellphones nowadays have built-in cameras... but there's something about the way the iphone and its multifarious apps let you manipulate images to the same level of creative glee you get when playing around in photoshop and lightroom. it's fun, plain and simple. and i'm always surprised by the end results. -
ttv (through the viewfinder)
this is a series of photographs taken with a digital SLR camera. they show the reflected images seen in the viewfinder of old twin-lens reflex cameras, including a 1950s argus argoflex seventy-five, a 1940s spartus full-vue, a kodak brownie starflex, a 1936 german voigtländer, a 1954 anscoflex II, and several other antique box cameras. several of these images are currently on display at gallery 400 square in beacon, ny. -
grand central terminal
a thrumming hub of flurried activity, grand central, for me, is the heart of manhattan. many of these photos were taken while commuting from two hours away; i'm planning to include some of these in an upcoming show about finding beauty on the way to work.
